British Columbia, January 29, 2025 – Public Land Use Society (PLUS) director Dr. Caroline Elliott has stepped aside from the board of PLUS for the duration of her participation in a provincial political leadership campaign.
PLUS is a non-partisan organization. While the Society engages with elected officials and policymakers across the political spectrum, it does not support, oppose, or affiliate with any political party or candidate.
The board agreed that, to maintain the Society’s non-partisan independence and avoid any perceived association with political campaigns, directors seeking partisan provincial or federal elected office will step aside for the duration of their campaign.
The Society thanks Dr. Elliott for her service.
PLUS will continue its work independently and will engage with all parties and candidates on public land issues in a fair and non-partisan manner.
